wonder parenting orientation

FREE in-studio seminar for new and expecting puppy parents

  • Have a new puppy, or planning to bring one into your family soon?

  • Starting classes with us, or trying to figure out which training style and company is the right fit for you and your family?

  • Want to feel confident that you are parenting your puppy in the very BEST way possible and become set up for a lifetime of success immediately?!

Wonder Parenting Orientation takes the guesswork out of raising a puppy. It’s the perfect place to get to know us and start learning right away! Our mission is to support families through early education—by being proactive and positive, and prioritizing a puppy’s comfort and calmness above all else. Our goal is to have relaxed and happy people and relaxed and happy dogs.

About this seminar: It’s amazing how an hour and a half with a wonder trainer can make all the difference in your experience of puppyhood. This quick-start seminar is just for you (no puppies). It offers a wealth of simple and smart knowhow to support you on your journey for a lifetime of happiness with your dog.

In this class, you will learn to think like a wonder trainer:

  • help your puppy build self-confidence and self-control

  • meet your puppy’s basics needs for optimal health and learning

  • use the clicker to speed up the learning process for your puppy

…and much more!

You’ll learn our special wonder way formula for tackling common behavior issues such as:

play biting - house soiling - jumping - not listening - chewing - crate and separation stress - digging - demand barking

If there are multiple parents (think “people in charge”) in the household, we recommend that all attend Orientation so everybody in the household is on the same page and set up for success! Every day is worth so much in puppy time and unwanted habits are harder to change than new ones are to create - so, we recommend getting started on the right paw as soon as you can!

Beyond Orientation: For maximizing your success, sign up for Social 1 and Skills 1 around nine to ten weeks of age and take them simultaneously. The critical period of brain development is fleeting - by 14 weeks of age, 90% of a pup’s brain is done developing. By taking Social 1 and Skills 1 during this key time, you will maximize your puppy’s ability to learn and you will help prevent fear, anxiety, and aggression later in life. We recommend setting aside at least 3 times per week to be in puppy school for at least two socialization classes and one basic skills class. After the critical period, you can typically plan to be in school once per week from the adolescence stage through maturity.
