Want to build your dog’s capacity to calm down when active in high arousal situations and focus when off-leash at a distance? Do you desire that they come when called reliably—no matter what? This 4-week Calm + Focus 2 course is for you!
In the second course of our Calm + Focused series, you’ll:
master the ability to get calm down and focus when excited and distracted
practice successfully regaining calm and focus when you lose it
learn the component skills of a reliable recall
This class is all about successfully implementing strategies to help get your dog to focus and come to you around temptations such as exciting dogs, gregarious cats, sniff spots and their greatest temptations. You can’t always control distractions, but you can prepare for them. Both preparation and practice are essential to mastering these difficult skills cooperatively and reliably outside. The trainers will teach you strategies to prepare for distraction, and in class you will practice calling your dog off of other dogs, people and excitement!
The goal of this class is to incentivize your puppy to want to choose you over distractions, to get them to pick up their head and look for you when you are not near them…and to get you and your puppy well on your way to reliable focus and recall success!
For best results, take this course after Calm & Focus 1 and before or after Skills 2 - depending on the level of focus work your pup needs!

age requirements: 6 months or older
previous class requirements: Skills 1 and Calm + Focus 1 (or equivalents)
puppy behavior requirements: puppy must be manageable when in close proximity to other people and dogs. If your puppy is known to be very vocal or reactive toward other dogs (even if they are just being overly-excited), this class is not the right fit for now. Please chat with the office for other options or if you are unsure.
human kids! we allow children ages 6 and older to attend when accompanied by an adult. Children under 6 must have a second adult dedicated to their supervision. Children must be able to remain calm, sit in their seats and follow directions, and wait to approach puppies unless having permission from all parties involved.

Cash Refund Window: Cash refunds will only be provided when requested within 72 hours of purchase AND at least 5 days (120 hours) prior to the course start time.
Credit Refunds/ Exchanges: You may switch to a different course or service without penalty when requested with greater than five days before your course is set to start. If you can not complete your course for any reason after the five day deadline has passed, either before or after your course has started, WP will give you an account credit worth 50% of the value of your remaining sessions. Credits for group courses are valid for up to one year.
Missing Class: We do not offer make up classes, however, you will receive a weekly email with slides for all the skills from class so you can work at home at your own pace! If your puppy can't come to a class due to illness, injury, or estrus, we also highly encourage you to come to class without your puppy to take advantage learning in person!
