in-person socialization sessions for ages 9–20 weeks

Cost: single session $35 | 5-session package $165

This is the most important beginning class for your puppy. We recommend starting as soon as you can. A dog’s critical socialization period is the first 20 weeks of life.

Our Social Puppy classes are different from other playgroups. We use our signature WoGo® training to help puppies learn to play and communicate well—and connect with you when they’re excited or nervous. The goal: confident puppies who can have fun, slow down, read body language and respond appropriately around other dogs and people. 

please keep in mind: some puppies don’t like playing with other puppies in a confined, indoor space. If your puppy indicates that they prefer playing with older dogs or in a natural setting, we’re happy to recommend alternatives.

to maximize learning: take Good Puppy early as possible during the critical learning period of development in conjunction with Social Puppy for the best start!

    • session is led by 1-2 trainers and open to 5-8 puppies per class

    • Shy Tykes is for puppies up to 65lbs, is open to 5 puppies per class, and open to shy puppies only

    • all other groups are designated and divided by puppy size
      Tiny Tykes 0–12lbs
      Lil Tykes 12-25 lbs
      Big Tykes 25–65 lbs

    • sometimes puppies age out sooner than 20 weeks

    • puppy who’s 9–20 weeks | age limit is for the safety and well-being of all puppies

    • puppy who has been in your home for at least 10 days

    • healthy, vaccinated puppy per our vaccination + health requirements

    • your puppy does NOT go to dog parks or non-puppy-specific daycare

    • your puppy has NOT had any diarrhea, lethargy, coughing or sneezing within 24 hours

    • puppy who does NOT go to dog parks or non-puppy-specific daycare AND has not had any lethargy, coughing, vomiting or diarrhea within 24 hours

    • puppy with both a collar and a front-clip harness (harness preferred, not required)

    • high value treats and chew/food puzzle for your puppy to eat/chew/lick to prevent barking and jumping on others while outside waiting or during play breaks

  • We allow children ages 6 and older to attend. Children ages 6-15 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • We’ll credit or refund the value of any sessions remaining after your puppy ages out or indicates a preference for older dogs or a different setting.

Book as soon as you can; classes fill several weeks to a month in advance.

For safety purposes, puppies who go to dog parks or non-puppy-specific day care may NOT attend. Puppies who have had any diarrhea, lethargy, coughing, or vomiting in the last 24 hours may NOT attend.

Use this age calculator to double check your puppy’s eligibility on the date of class. Puppies may attend up to 20 weeks and 6 days of age.

If you opted into email communications, check your inbox for your booking confirmation with the date and time of your class, plus pre–class instructions (separate email from your purchase receipt).

 
 

    • If you’re in the first position on the waitlist and a class spot opens, you’ll automatically be enrolled and you will receive a text and/or email notifying you. Auto enrollment stops 8 hours before class.

    • If you opted out of email and text communication, you will not receive a notification. Instead you can check your schedule from your online profile or through the Wonder Puppy app.

    • Get the full scoop on our waitlist policies. In order to be added to a waitlist, you will need at least 1 unused Social Puppy credit on your account. You can sign up for as many waitlists as you want so long as you have at least 1 credit! If you don’t get off of the waitlist, let us know and we’ll give you a refund!

    • If a class is FULL, the roster and the waitlist are both full.

  • If you can’t make your class for any reason, please let us know—cancel your class online (sign into your account and go to your schedule of classes, then click CANCEL) or call the office at 503.697.pups/7877. You won’t lose your class credit if your puppy is sick.

  • Please review our covid policy before attending

  • Social Puppy classes are held in Studio B on NW Raleigh, between NW 17th and NW 18th. We will open our doors at class start time. Please help us be good neighbors by avoiding lingering on the raised walkway to discourage puppies pottying in front of our neighboring businesses.
