*If you want to get started in advance, you are encouraged to come into the center (with or without your dog) to pick up your school books and to get a short lesson on the use of training tools.

Pup Requirements

people-safe and dog-safe (no aggression)
healthy, free of parasites, and at least one set of puppy shots
(DHPP, and Rabies if over 6 mo of age)

What To Bring

leash 6ft, non-rectractable leash
harness and/or collar no chains or prongs
treats variety of high value, pea-sized yummies
treat pouch
clicker
bed small blanket, towel or mat
toy plush or tug type, non-squeakinga
water & bowl
…and an exercised & hungry pup!

For best training results: 
Start training early at 8-10 weeks of age.   
Spread basic training courses across one year as your puppy develops and matures.   
After completion of each course, we recommend scheduling 1-2 private training sessions for continued support—applying what you have learned and getting help in areas that are challenging.

Great Puppy

Great Puppy is great for puppies who can easily perform basic skills in low to medium distraction settings. It will expand upon your puppy’s learning foundation by adding distance and distraction to basic skills and fading out training tools for well-known skills. You will continue to work together as a team as you teach your puppy practical tasks such as "down" from a distance and "go to your bed" when someone comes to the door. At the end of the course, you will have the option of taking the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Test.  By learning through success, you and your puppy will become prepared for the challenges of every day life…while having fun!

Wonder Puppy

Wonder Puppy is a short but invaluable course that helps bring out the best in your puppy. Together, you can continue working with your pup as a team, to polish your basic skills in real-life situations and lessen the use of training tools -- all in a fun, supportive atmosphere. At the end of the 6 weeks, you will have the option to demonstrate these skills in an AKC “Canine Good Citizen” evaluation. This course is a great way to "pull it all together"… so that your puppy becomes a wonder puppy!

6 weeks (1-hour sessions, last week is the optional CGC test)
